Sizing a child's glove
Kids' gloves are sold in 4, 6 and 8 oz. Age is only a starting point — a big eight-year-old and a small eleven-year-old can need the same glove — so use the child's weight and the brand's own chart, and check that the strap closes snug at the wrist with wraps on. Very little at this size. Kids' gloves are all synthetic; the differences are the strap (elastic-backed straps cost slightly more and fit better) and whether the brand publishes a real chart. Do not pay for leather for a child who will outgrow the glove in a year.
