Privacy policy

Bag & Bell (bagandbell.com) is published by Iron Mako Media. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and what we do with it. The short version: the site has no accounts, no newsletter, and sells no data. It uses analytics to see which pages are read, a contact form that emails us what you type, and affiliate links that tell the retailer you came from here.

What we collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are from, and which product buttons are clicked. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type. We do not send names, emails or any other personal identifiers to Google Analytics. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's privacy policy, and you can opt out using Google's browser add-on or your browser's cookie controls.

Contact form and email

When you use the contact form, the name, email address, subject and message you enter are emailed to us and used only to reply to you. We keep that email as long as the conversation is useful and do not add you to any list. The form also records the time it was loaded and your IP address in order to block automated spam; that information is not stored beyond the request.

Affiliate links

Product links go through our own resolver (/go/) and then to the retailer with a tracking tag that identifies this site as the source. The retailer (Amazon) may set its own cookies and collects its own data under its own privacy policy; we receive aggregate reports of clicks and qualifying purchases with no personal information about you. The affiliate disclosure explains the arrangement.

Server logs

Like every website, our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, requested page, browser) for security and reliability. They are retained briefly and not used to identify individuals.

What we don't collect

• No accounts, logins or passwords.
• No newsletter, no email list.
• No payment information — nothing is sold on this site.
• No sale or rental of personal data to anyone.

Cookies

The site itself sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets analytics cookies; retailers set their own after you click through. You can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time; the site works without them.

Third parties

Google (analytics), Amazon and any retailer you click through to (affiliate programs), Microsoft (the contact form delivers by email through Microsoft services), and our hosting provider. Each handles data under its own policy.

Children

The site is written for adults and for parents buying for children. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. The contact form is for adults.

Your choices and rights

You can browse without cookies, opt out of Google Analytics, and use email instead of the form. If you have sent us a message and want it deleted, or want to know what we hold about you (it will be that message), email mike@blackironathletics.com. Residents of jurisdictions with specific privacy rights (for example California or the EU) can exercise them by the same address.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted here.
